The 7 th Central Pay Commission has increased the fixed Medical allowance drawn by the Central civil pensioners residing in non-CGHS areas from the earlier Rs.500/- per month to Rs.1000/- per month wef 01.07.2017.   In the case of pensioners already drawing the medical allowance of Rs.500/-, the enhanced amount of Rs.1000/- will be automatically drawn and credited to their bank account with arrears if any.   In the case of persons who have not at all drawn this fixed medical allowance for various reasons since their date of retirement may apply for the allowance now .   They are requested to contact the The Additional Director CGHS Rajaji Bhavan Besant Nagar,  Chennai - 600 090. with the following documents. 1.      Application in plain paper stating Fixed Medical Allowance is not drawn and CGHS facility is also not availed. 2.      Original Pension Book OR Pension Pay Order and a copy of the same. 3.      Original 6 th and 7 th CPC Pension revision orders
