National Executive Meeting held at Kolkatta on 16.12.2017


The National Executive Meeting of the Income Tax pensioners Federation was held at Kolkatta on 16.12.2017 and was hosted by the Bengal Unit of ITPF.  The meeting was conducted in the RTI premises at Ayakar Bhavan Kolkatta and was presided by Com. Shri.Umesh Mehta the President of the ITPF,  Shri.Shanthi Kumar Vice President, Shri.KKN Kutty Secretary General and representatives from various other state units participated in the meeting and the meeting deliberated on various issues affecting income tax pensioner community.  The Tamil Nadu state was represented by Shri.Ganesh Babu Vice president, Shri.ML Perumal Secretary and Shri.Jayanandhan Asst. Secretary.  The several state representatives spoke about the organizational structure and functioning, membership strength of their respective state units and their current activities etc.  The two main topics discussed were the recommendations of the 7th  CPC and the implementation of Option-1, revision of pension in accordance with the formula prescribed by the 7th CPC and calculation of arrears of pension and the CGHS facilities provided to the pensioners.  Many speakers pointed out the revision of pension in the individual cases is being done slowly in their respective states and wherever it is revised the banks are giving credit in the respective accounts of the pensioners further in a slow manner due to several reasons including staff shortage.  Similarly, many speakers voiced their concern about the shortcomings and deficiencies in the facilities provided by the CGHS.  The Secretary General Shri.KKN Kutty promised to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.  The Secretary General also spoke about the registration of the Federation under the relevant laws in force in Delhi and the subscription arrears due to the Federation from the state units and augmenting the existing membership.  The AP unit offered to host the next EC meeting at Hyderabad sometime in April / May-2018. Com. Shri.Shanthi Kumar Vice President proposed the vote of thanks and the meeting concluded.
